From 4 July 2020 the panorama ‘THE CATHEDRAL OF MONET – The Hope of Modernity’ will have its world première in Rouen. The highlight of this year’s festival ‘Normandie Impressionisme’ can be viewed at the Panorama XXL exhibition centre until late 2021. With this artwork Yadegar Asisi depicts the advances made in painting during the Impressionist era. For the first time, the panorama was produced entirely in oil before being digitally enlarged and printed on canvas. Asisi drew inspiration from Claude Monet’s Rouen Cathedral series, which was painted between 1892 and 1894.
