A wink before the catastrophe
It is 8:41 a.m. on September 11, 20001. The city of New York is waking up on a beautiful, clear autumn day. No one suspects that something will happen a few minutes later that will shake old certainties as like as our normality in general. Today, we all remember exactly what we did in that moment - and we all live with the far-reaching consequences: War and terror, fear and paranoia. With all the consequences in the eternal cycle of violence.
The Panorama NEW YORK 9/11 does not show the tragic events of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center itself, but presents the silhouette of Manhattan with the world-famous Twin Towers immediately before the terrorist attacks. On our way to the panorama we experience the global impact of the events and the much greater human suffering in the aftermath of the disaster. After LEIPZIG 1813 and DRESDEN 1945, NEW YORK 9/11 is the third in Yadegar Asisi's series of anti-war projects and continues his view of the world with a special focus on the present-day conflicts.
The work is in progress, opening date is July 3, 2021 at Panometer Leipzig.
