1756 Dresden

An invitation to find out more – the age of Dresden Baroque

PanoDD-FuehrungKinder

The asisi Panometer takes you on an entertaining and extremely exciting journey back in time to the year 1756. And Dresden – the dazzling royal seat on the river Elbe – is your destination. The people who lived at that time are brought back to life: court society, craftsmen, scholars and merchants. Our educational programmes make the exhibition venue an unusual place of learning.

At the asisi Panometer it is a real pleasure to escape from the modern age of “fast picture sequences“ and digital resolution, and experience history at your own pace.  However, »1756 Dresden« is also a digital picture. The panorama could not have been created in this way without modern techniques. And yet it begins in quite a different way: simple drawing with a pencil and paper.

This kind of learning – using your senses and the fascination of seeing – are at the centre of the entire panorama project »1756 Dresden«.

At the same time, you can also learn about the beginnings of the panorama and discover how the painter Yadegar Asisi still begins his circular paintings with traditional drawing.
