From the point of view of his many years of experience as an architect, artist and university lecturer, Yadegar Asisi described the role of drawing in the development of an individual’s personality.
Asisi sees drawing not only a creative means of expression, but also as a practical tool which encourages our powers of sensual perception and helps us to understand the world around us. In Yadegar Asisi’s view, this also has a positive influence on an individual’s quality of life and social competence. Asisi criticises the fact that education places its main emphasis on the imparting of rational and factual knowledge, widely neglecting the development of the individual’s personality.
